It finally happened. Spotted a grizzly up a hill, about 50-75 meters away, rummaging in the dirt. Later, saw a black bear mama with her cubs just 10 meters to my right. Heart-pounding moments, both.
No Longer Bear-Less Poem
I have seen a bear at last,
A grizzly on the hill so vast.Pretty and busy, without a care,
Finally, I’ve found my bear.No more tales of empty trails,
No more listening to others’ wails.I watched it roam, free and wild,
Nature’s creature, so beguiled. Then a black bear, mama and cubs,
In the forest, among the shrubs. They ambled close, a sight to see,
A moment that filled me with glee.No longer bear-less, heart now full,
Nature’s dance, a beautiful pull.I’ve seen them, felt their grace,
In the wild, I’ve found my place.

**No Longer Bear-less**
I have seen a bear at last,
A grizzly on the hill so vast.
Pretty and busy, without a care,
Finally, I’ve found my bear.
No more tales of empty trails,
No more listening to others’ wails.
I watched it roam, free and wild,
Nature’s creature, so beguiled.
Then a black bear, mama and cubs,
In the forest, among the shrubs.
They ambled close, a sight to see,
A moment that filled me with glee.
No longer bear-less, heart now full,
Nature’s dance, a beautiful pull.
I’ve seen them, felt their grace,
In the wild, I’ve found my place.
