Daily Reflections (challenges, insights, musings):

The day started with my usual morning routine—45 pushups and four minutes of piano, a perfect start, really. I made coffee for Lanski and enjoyed the company of the CDT crew: Granite, Narrator, Chip, Oz and the usual suspects. Good vibes all around.

I briefly considered taking the longer route today to make tomorrow in town easier, but I’m relieved we didn’t. Bessy struggled up the first little hill, but things improved as the day went on. A short day was definitely the smarter move.

We were treated to scenic waterfalls and some cute rodents along the way. Pine Martin Camp, where we’ve set up, is a gem with its mini waterfall and a conveniently placed privy nearby. Can’t ask for more.

Bessy’s still a bit anxious about wildlife, which is understandable. The odds are in our favor, though.

We arrived at camp early—around 3 PM—which means an equally early bedtime. It’s barely 7 PM and we’re already ready to sleep. Tomorrow brings a 26 km day with a 600 m ascent in the first 6 km. Should be a fun one!
