Daily Reflections:

Woke up to a beautiful morning, breakfasted like a king, and then tried to be zen on the patio, meditating as wildlife casually strolled by like they owned the place. After that, it was bicycle time—downtown Boulder, here I come! The ride was fast but brutal. I looked like I was auditioning for a slow-motion scene in a low-budget action movie.

Once in town, I proceeded to get absolutely nothing done. I hit up all the stores, flirted with the idea of getting something useful, and then accomplished zilch until 3 PM. REI finally informed me they couldn’t fix my hiking poles. Why, thank you, REI, for letting me know after an entire day of shopping failure.

The ride back through the university was filled with eager, youthful spirits who zoomed past me. Meanwhile, I was being defeated by headwinds and an overwhelming sense of being… well, sluggish.

Lanski is on her way now, and we capped the evening with another fabulous dinner at Maja’s. Seriously, she could host her own cooking show. Her daughter sent stunning photos from Asia, leaving us all in awe and probably a little jealous.

Spent a good 90 minutes trying to organize gear for Lanski’s arrival. We’re all exhausted—fingers crossed we actually get some sleep tonight!
