Daily Reflections:

Waking up was a struggle, and I started the day by digging a hole and packing up with all the enthusiasm of a sloth. Invited Logan to meditate, which was a better idea for him than for me—I’m still half-asleep. Crossing into Colorado felt like an achievement worth celebrating, and the trail magic that followed was like finding an oasis in the desert. Chairs, cold drinks, snacks—I could’ve stayed all day. Instead, we pushed on, setting an ambitious goal of 50 km. The scenery helped: beautiful mountains and Byron Katie’s “The Work” keeping my mind occupied. Logan showed up at camp just as I was finishing up the day’s journal—always good to have company at night.
