Daily Reflections (challenges, insights, musings):
I’m blaming the full moon for the rough night’s sleep. No eye mask, no sleep, just tossing and turning. It left me cranky and sluggish all day. Didn’t even meditate, and that was a mistake—note to self, always meditate!
Hiked with Granite again, and we took our time, stopping at lakes to snack, dry our gear, and admire the scenery. The Cirque of the Towers was something out of a fantasy novel—impossibly tall peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and an air of magic.
A cold river swim at 4 PM gave us the energy boost we needed to push through the final ascent to Lonesome Lake. We arrived at a beautiful camp spot and I decided to sleep with the tent vestibules open, hoping the fresh air would help me sleep. Fingers crossed I don’t wake up smelling like a bear’s dinner. Good night.
