Daily Reflections:
It’s beautiful here, no doubt about it. The landscape is something straight out of a nature documentary, except I’m in it, sweating and swatting at bugs.
I’ve noticed something peculiar: people pay $400 to have a horse carry them where their legs could easily take them. I get it, horses are cool, but so is walking.
One thing’s for sure, Americans are service-minded people.
A Bearless Poem
Everyone but me has seen a bear,
Their tales they eagerly share.
I watch and wait, with bated breath,
Yet the bears elude me, to my chagrin and death.
I listen closely, I tread with care,
In hopes of spotting one of these creatures rare.
But all I find are tracks and dung,
As the bears in secret paths have sprung.
Oh, bears, why do you hide from me?
Is my scent too much, or do you just flee?
You grace the paths of everyone else,
Leaving me alone with nature’s stealth.
So here I am, in Glacier’s heart,
Watching, waiting, playing my part.
One day I’ll see a bear, I swear,
Until then, it’s just me and the mountain air.
