Daily Reflections (challenges, insights, musings):
Trail angels are fantastic. I love them. They seem to pop up just when you need them most. It started with a box full of drinks and snacks, complete with a waste deposit. Later, another box offered more drinks, and I gave root beer a try—surprisingly good. By the end of the day, some friendly campers handed me water and a granola bar.
The hike itself was a mix of road and highway intersections, with plenty of cows to keep me company. After crossing the highway, the final mountain was quite the sight. How do trees grow on boulders made of boulders? It’s a mystery. I found a decent campsite on the other side of the mountain and plan to have breakfast on one of the boulders tomorrow morning.
I haven’t seen any hikers but I’ve read their notes in the trail angels’ logbooks. It was a nice to chat with my sister. I miss my favorite people back home.
