3 Highlights:

1. Meeting Missouri horse riders.

2. Finding my lost hiking pole.

3. Listening to “Super Communicators” while hiking.

Daily Summary:

• Distance hiked: 50 km

• Starting point: Spotted Bear Pass

• Ending point: Benchmark Ranch

• Weather conditions: Sunny

Daily Reflections:

The chinese wall was impressive! I hiked alongside it for 12 km and it kept going. Cool mountain stuff.

Listening to books makes me less attentive. I left my hiking pole behind and had to backtrack about a kilometer to retrieve it. People pay a lot for horse wilderness tours, and it’s quite an industry out here. Met some folks who had a heatstroke—it’s a reminder that help is far away in these parts. Also, rabbits are now part of the wildlife sightings.
