3 Highlights:

1. Hitchhiking with a freediver and two braids.

2. A light breakfast and the joy of a lighter pack.

3. Realizing I hiked 40 km instead of the planned 32.

Daily Summary:

• Distance hiked: 40 km

• Starting point: Marias Pass

• Ending point: North Badger Creek Campsite

• Weather conditions: Sunny

Daily Reflections:

Checking the water situation is crucial—today I had a two-hour dry struggle. My allergies are acting up, making it hard to breathe while hiking uphill. Despite these challenges, the birds sang me to sleep, a comforting sound in the wilderness. Mosquitoes still love me, and I found two ticks, one of which was enormous and reddish. Despite these nuisances, the beauty of the journey keeps me going.
