Daily Reflections:

The day started cold and wet, and so did my mood. Two hours just to pack up—fingers and toes protesting every step of the way. But once I got moving, the 1,000-meter climb wasn’t nearly as brutal as I’d feared. Saw some young hikers on their way up—made me feel a bit old, but hey, they were struggling too. Finished “The Work” and switched to DeMello’s “Awareness,” which kept me going as the day dragged on. Just before camp, I spotted some animal prints—puma, wolf, small bear—and was serenaded by coyote songs at night. It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m out here, even when I’m feeling slow and clumsy.
