Daily Reflections (challenges, insights, musings):
Today was a day of peaks, endless peaks, and stones underfoot. The wind was hot, a relentless companion. I hiked through it all, knowing there was no respite until I reached the end of the day.
Lunch was by a lake, a brief moment of peace. A carpenter bird shared the spot, its feathers alive with red parasites. The long water carries stretched out ahead, daunting but necessary.
The encounters with fellow hikers were a welcome break from the solitude. Each one had a story, a reason for being out here. It reminded me that I was part of something larger, a community of wanderers.
Contact with family was brief but grounding. It reminded me of the world outside this trail, a world I would return to when this journey was over.
The night at Jurt was awful. Mice scurried about, and ants invaded my space. Sleep was a distant hope. Tomorrow, I would move on, leaving the discomfort behind.
