Hitchhiking up to Marias pass. It took me 1,5h to get a ride but I finally got a nice spot in the back of a SUV.

Hiking back to East Glacier. I felt there were bears everywhere but they managed to avoid me seeing them

3 Highlights:

1. Wonderful people met along the way.
2. Stories about bears shared around camp.
3. Riding a bike for a quick errand, feeling the breeze.

Daily Summary:

• Distance hiked: 24 km
• Starting point: Marias Pass
• Ending point: East Glacier
• Weather conditions: Nice

Daily Reflections:

Short day but tough, I need more sleep, that’s for sure. The people I’ve met at Lunas have been amazing, and their stories about bears are both thrilling and slightly terrifying. Twin Braids had an amazing encounter with a HUGE grizzly in glacier national park that she captured on camera. She kept her cool when most of us would have died from a fart attack….

It’s these connections in town that make the trail feel less lonely.
